The Big Bra Bar to offer a 26 band bra!

After some urging by yours truly, :-D as well as other 26 back ladies, The Big Bra Bar is planning on introducing one style of 26 backed bra as a trial run next season!

As they explained, they can only do one style, so be sure to comment by clicking here and telling them which is your favorite. Personally, I'm rooting for the Midnight Blue Loren! Isn't she beautiful?

This will be a trial run- if it sells well, they may be able to introduce more 26 styles. But if it doesn't it will be discontinued. :-( So if you need a 26 back, I definitely suggest you "vote with your dollars" and buy this one! And tell your friends, too. :-)

  1. Hi! I just found this blog and I just read about the 26 band bras. I always thought the smaller bands was for the skinniest girls, is this not correct? I'm just a little confused now.

  2. They don't carry anything remotely close to my size, but I think it's awesome that they are expanding their size range based on cusomer feedback.
@Cass: I don't think the women needing 28 or 26 band are particularly skinny, just smaller framed than average.

  3. Cass, I don't think you'd have to be too skinny to wear a 26 band. I'm a size 8-10 in tops and I wear a 30 band. Considering that in the US size go down to 0 and 00, I'd say there should be demand for a 26 back! Especially since it's more about your ribcage size than your weight.

Brittany - I would buy this if I could fit into a 26, but there's no way xD Although I do wish for a 28 in my favourite bra *sigh*

  4. Cass, a 26 band bra could work for girls with a ribcage measurement somewhere in the range of 25-27 inches; that's all a bandsize really means. I think there are a good many girls who fit into this category, and many with larger bustlines.

I wear a 28 band (and even sometimes those are too loose for me) and am by no means super skinny.

  5. Bigbrabar will also be offering thise bras in 28-32"

But please tell your friends about the 26" bra so it sells and people who wear a 26" have a choice.

  6. I just found your blog and I would like to say thankyou so much for making me aware of all these new places to buy bras and for letting me know I am not a total wierdo.
I got measured again today. About a year ago I was measured a 30F and I felt like a total alien, but I got used to it and found some ok bras. Today I was told that I am actually now a 28H (which led to me eventually leaving the shop to cry in the street with my mother holding the shopping!) but after looking at this blog I feel much better, especially knowing that there are actually some nice bras out there, and not the disgusting medical looking utility scaffolding the shopkeeper nearly made me buy today (though I am so so grateful to her for sizing me, she definitely knew what she was doing). I really love the bra you have pointed out in this post and I may have to order one right now!
I'm also in no way really skinny, I'm a biggish UK10 so I definitely think more women should be out there getting measured!

  7. I've just come across your blog and this is so interesting. I have a lingerie shop and myself along with many others always pine for a 26 back!

  8. What a lovely bra! I'm tempted to buy a 26 band just to show support. :)

Also, I would say that there has to be a demand for a 26 band. My ribcage measures in at 30" at the moment and I'm 14lbs overweight, it's conceivable that I'd need a 26 band once I reach my goal weight. FWIW, I don't even have a small frame either! I have broad shoulders, large wrists etc but I just have a small ribcage and don't seem to carry much weight there either.

  9. Do you have any recommendations for exercise clothes, especially for yoga. There are lots of cute yoga tops out there, but most of them have those awful built-in bras.

  10. Woo! I'm excited. Can anyone give me some advice for bras that don't show through shirts? I hate that so many have to much e,embroidery/details,and sometimes aren't lined and show the nipples. And perhaps some push up bras to?
    Thanks

  11. My 26DD from there arrived this morning. I'm really disappointed because it's at least two cup sizes and a band size too big. I put it next to my biggest 28D bra for comparison, since they're meant to have about the same cup volume, and it was huge. Looks like I'll have to wait for Panache to release 26 backs next year.
